Cohiba Siglo II

Cohiba Siglo II
5-1/8 x 42
Wrapper/Binder/Filler: Cuba
Smoke Time: 54 min.
Date: 06-23-07

Pre-light:  Te wrapper is exceptionally smooth and caramel-colored with no major veins or blemishes.  Aroma was tobacco with hints of dry hay.  The pre-light draw was great, and had flavors of grass with an apricot-like undertone.

1/3:  The cigar started off with a grassy peppery flavor.  There was a decent smoke volume and a firm ash that was light with a few dark splotches.

2/3:  A nice spiciness emerges that made my tongue and lips tingle a little bit.  The grassiness evolved into toasted hay, and a leathery flavor emerged.

3/3:  The spiciness from the second third is still there, but it has smoothed out quite a bit.  Also, the grassiness returnd at the back of my palate.  Nubbed it!

Overall:  A very pleasant smoke with constantly evolving flavors including a nice evolution of spiciness throughout the smoke.

Score:  4/5
